Ashes in Her Eyes tells the story of Stephanie who is working on moving urns for her job. Through a near miss by a couple of older people, she trips and falls with some of the ashes entering her eyes. She drives home soon after her boss cleans out her eyes. However, strange things occur afterwords and she doesn't remember doing any of these things. With her eyes bleeding and her memory lost, she doesn't know what is taking her by force and what occurs when it does.

Spencer takes the reader on an intense thrill ride. The one problem is that the story hits its plateau early on, making the rest of the story very predictable. However, this is not a reason to not carry on with the rest of the book. The characters are interesting and not one-sided. The author establishes a nice background for all the horrific events to occur. You are not left in the dust.

Ashes in her Eyes is not hard on your eyes and should be read with a nice cup of coffee. It is worth your time and worth taking it to the end. You never know what is hidden behind something.
